The Elliott Building

Windows:  H-Series Single Hung, Fixed, Geometric Fixed, Casement and Project-Out

Built in 1894, this structure was originally built for William H. Elliott Dry Goods.  Its distinctive red brick and terra cotta façade and large arched windows made it an anchor on the corner of Detroit’s Grand River and Woodward Avenues.

The Elliott Building would become a vacant property for many years and much irreparable damage was sustained, including to the windows. As rehab began, the project Developers and  Architects consulted closely with Quaker to ensure the new aluminum historic-replication windows matched the originals, in both profile and sightlines. Quaker’s H-Series windows were up to the challenge.
